A rare Westfalia 2L LHD BERLIN model in extremely good condition with no known rust. We have owned this 40 year old camper for over 15 years and have finally decided to sell it due to declining use. It's currently on 95000 and we bought it at 83000.
it has just been mot'd and the guys at the station said it was the best condition they had come across both in overall condition and bodywork.
the van's history is interesting, in that it was bought new by an English guy who worked in California to where he had it shipped. To comply with regional us emissions in the 1970's it was fitted with a 2L fuel injected system and had an air con unit to cope with the heat. He then went to work in Saudi where the van was shipped. I have the photos of it in a sun baked desert and many photos of it's subsequent restoration - probably the reason why the bodywork is so good. His UK based sons had it shipped back in the 90's where they used their skills as a cabinet maker and body work painter to fully revitalise whilst retaining the original nature. The Berlin configuration gives 2 berths above and 2 below with wardrobe, fridge and storage unit alongside.
i acquired it in 2003 and it has just been serviced mot'd with 3 new tyres, 2 batteries and new internal door cards (£800 spent).
Major work done since 2003 - replaced fuel injection system with standard carbs, add new carpet and gas central heating which we've never used. Loads of service history, trials, Log Book, questions, more photos, chats no problem - Phil the details below ( Just south of Bristol)
