Attractive livery of Light-Beige (181) with brown leather and green carpeting
Registered in Poland with valid technical inspection
The Appeal
The Mercedes-Benz W113 - universally known as the 'Pagoda' thanks to its distinctive concave hardtop - completely changed the modern image of Mercedes-Benz for the general public. The W113 sat perfectly between their weaker roadsters and prohibitively expensive supercars, perfectly hit the zeitgeist and became the car of choice for the well-to-do executive very quickly.
As the final and most powerful iteration of the W113 series, the 280SL married its 2.8-litre inline-six with a level of refinement and build quality that has ensured its status as one of the most coveted classic Mercedes-Benz models in existence.
This 1971 example, built to American specification and now registered in Poland, has benefited from a comprehensive restoration that boasts a fine eye for originality. The quintessentially '70s colour scheme and full mechanical refurb make for a real timewarp car, one that's bound to turn plenty of heads.
Having had just one former registered keeper, it has been stored in a dry, secure garage and used only occasionally following the restoration - and as a result still makes for a fabulous looker. An excellent car that's ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper.Mercedes_Benz_W113_280SL_1.jpg509.63 KB
