The Appeal
Land Rover history begins with the Series I, and what better place to start than with the original ‘function leading form’ design of the original iteration of the iconic off-roader. A classic vehicle for use as a tool or as a leisure vehicle, even today, it’s a piece of British cultural history. The world-beating automotive phenomenon began with the Series I.
From long-term family ownership, this example has benefited from restoration work by the son of the vendor, whilst still retaining its character. The 88” chassis offers a less choppy ride and versatility and there’s increased power and torque from the larger (for 1958) 1997cc petrol engine as opposed to the earlier 1595cc petrol. Following major refurbishment, there’s many decades of adventure and service ahead for another custodial family.
