The Appeal

The early two-door Range Rover is widely regarded as one of the most significant and collectable British 4x4s ever produced. It's a truly iconic piece of design work, becoming the first car to be exhibited in the Louvre Museum. Rover took all its learnings from Land Rover Series vehicles and created a new breed 4x4 that combined off-road ability with the luxury of a saloon car, practically inventing the 'Sports Utility Vehicle' segment in the process.

This 'Suffix B' example represents a rare opportunity to acquire an early model that has been in the same ownership for nearly five decades. Having been purchased when just six months old in 1974, this Range Rover has been cherished as a family car, used for trips and days out, but notably has never been taken off-road.
The Range Rover underwent a comprehensive nuts and bolts rebuild and complete restoration in 1990, after which it has been garage-kept and only occasionally used. With its factory-standard, unmodified V8 engine and the practical addition of power steering during restoration, this Range Rover presents as a well-preserved example of this increasingly sought-after classic.
