The Appeal

The C107 SLC took what was great about the R107 roadster and added 2+2 coupe practicality. These cars are much rarer than their convertible cousins and, for many, offer a long, low and sleek style that is unmatched by contemporary 70s coupes. 
Considering their scarcity today, this example is a proper find. Finished in smart Diamond Blue metallic with a lovely Cognac leather interior, it had just one previous keeper before the vendor acquired it for his extensive collection. With just 126,000 kms from new, thanks to a life in the De Doorns valley it has never been welded or restored and presents in great, original condition.

“There are coupes, and then there’s the Mercedes-Benz 450SLC—the pillarless powerhouse that redefined luxury grand touring. This was Stuttgart’s flagship in the late ‘70s, a car of affluence, influence, and impeccable engineering. And now, nearly five decades later, it remains the ultimate expression of style and performance.
“But this isn’t just any SLC.
“This is a true one-owner, 126, 000KM from new, dry-climate survivor that has spent its entire life in the sun-drenched De Doorns valley—far from the ravages of rust, rot, and road salt. It has never been welded, never been restored, and never been neglected.
“True, unmolested 450SLCs are nearly extinct. Most have been driven into the ground, neglected, or left to rot. This one? It is as it left the factory—pristine, original, and utterly magnificent.
