The Appeal

Widely regarded as one of the greatest motorbikes ever built, Honda’s CB750 displayed a nack for innovation and quality that is synonymous with the brand. The firm wanted to take on the best of America by building ‘the king of motorbikes,’ a big, comfortable long-distance GT bike infused with racing technology. It was a risk, but it paid off.
As this late model CB750K8 shows, Honda’s masterpiece was both clever - we’re thinking about that in line four - and beautiful. Just look at the candy green paintwork of this beautiful example to see what we mean.
This bike was built in 1978 and spent its life in the cossetting environs of Japan before arriving in the UK in 1995. It has had just five previous keepers in that time. At under 20,000 miles it was comprehensively restored in 2015. It has covered less than 370 miles since. You can sense the quality of that work and the careful subsequent preservation from the photos.
The vendor acquired the bike a couple of years ago and has continued that theme. Recent work has included a full carburettor overhaul and rebuild with new jets and diaphragms. The fluids were replaced in 2023 and within the last 50 miles it has received new HT leads, a new battery and new spark plugs.
It is a largely standard bike but benefits from the swing arm rear suspension from a later model and an upgrade to rear disc brake to significantly improve stopping power.

It is a mark of the current collector keeper’s approach that despite being MOT exempt by age he has put the bike through a voluntary test. That adds transparency for the buyer and runs to June 2026 with no advisories. A truly lovely example of a highly respected collector bike.
