1931 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan
It is with a very heavy heart we offer this gloriously restored Model A. This car was imported from the states in 2005 as a project by our late, great "Lord Hugh". Hugh was a dear friend and a huge part of the team at Romance of Rust, my father's classic car restoration business based at Duke of London. He and my father had spent over a decade in their spare time working on this Ford. A year after its completion, Hugh tragically and unexpectedly passed away last year. We have now been tasked with finding it the best and most fitting home and are under strict instructions from his late self to ensure that it is not turned into a hot rod given how he painstakingly kept the car totally original in its specifications during its restoration.
The original steel body has had a full restoration and paint job in its original gloss black. The wheels have been repainted in the correct cream. The interior, vinyl roof and headlining have been retrimmed in the correct cloth. All brightwork was rechromed and refinished as necessary. Mechanically, the running gear and original 4 cylinder engine have been gone through and the car is quite literally on the button and ready to be driven. It is UK registered.
Notorious internally here for his fastidiousness, Hugh has left the car with the most unbelievably comprehensive files documenting all works, parts, history etc. etc. of the car. Also accompanying the car is a couple of boxes of spare parts and a rear luggage box trimmed in black.
I daren't say we are going to want to vet any prospective buyer as we must ensure this goes to the best possible home to do right by our dear friend and his family.
