1980 Renault 5 Turbo
Introduced at the Brussels Motor Show in 1980. Renaults plan was to produce 400 examples needed for Group 4 homologation. However, interest was so great that Renault eventually produced 1, 690 examples of the Turbo 1 and went on to produce a further 3, 167 of the less derivable Turbo 2. The Turbo 2, although still highly desirable, lost many of the special features of the Turbo 1, such as the unique interior and aluminium panels. Instead featuring the dashboard and interior of lesser Renault 5 models.
Offered here is a fully restored example of not just the more desirable Turbo 1 model, but 1 of the initial batch of 400 cars produced to homologate Group 4.
