This delightful old Rover has been used as a family car for the last 13 years. Sadly he has failed the MOT and is need of restoration.
Over the years he's had a new clutch, exhaust system, radiator, water pump and cam belt.
The head gasket failed/ blew and was replaced along with a skim and all related new parts.
I have owned the car since 2009 and have some paperwork showing the various repairs and services done to the vehicle.
Mostly solid exterior, however a few rust spots are now appearing on the wheel arches, one has created a hole right through. All shown in photos. The paint is generally all ok, other than a few scratches on the roof due to the car cover that was supposed to be protecting it.
No large dents of marks.
The interior is in a reasonable condition considering the age. The seats have had covers on for most of the time so the seats are not worn or gone through.
The back parcel shelf has slightly collapsed and the top of the interior front doors have broken a little which I think is due to sun damage.
Mechanically there is the head gasket problem, it has gone again and will need replacing. Currently the car will start and drive, but I've been advised not to drive it far.
I have had a quote from an engineering company of £800 to repair the head gasket, I have been assured with the correct gasket it will not go again.
