My P5B Saloon needs a new home. It needs someone who can give it the love and attention it needs to be back on Top Form again. Last year it failed its MOT on a leaking power steering box and some welding. The welding was completed and the steering box was sent away to be reconditioned. The reconditioning was not a success. The box returned three times and each time the car had no assistance when turning left. During this time off the road, the servo packed up. I duly replaced the servo and master cylinder and now the car stops as it should. Again, during its time off the road, it has developed a running issue. Perhaps a fault with the electronic ignition. I replaced the coil with little effect. The car would need to be taken away on a trailer as the steering is still not correct and I have let the MOT lapse. I am the third owner of this great part of British Motoring History. The first owner had the car brand new on 27th April 1972. When they died in 1991 the car was laid up. It was bequeathed to the first owners' Chauffer who took ownership in 2013. The car was given an MOT and was not used until I purchased it in November 2014. I have replaced the carpets, had the heads skimmed, new alternator, springs and general servicing each year. As you can see from the pictures this car is not perfect however, it is not a scraper. Some attention to the small parts of the bodywork, steering box and running issue will return it to the great car it is. I am open to sensible offers and am aware of the possible costs involved with making this car useable, very presentable, or A1 concourse.
