Beschreibung
Registered 2nd May 1960 this beautiful motorcar, in exceptional condition, is presented in Old English White with red hide and carpets.
The standard 1600cc engine has been replaced with a later 1800cc from an MGB, which has also been supercharged! The engine is a well-renowned Peter Burgess unit giving a very healthy 157bhp (a significant gain from the 80bhp of the original MK1 1600cc powerplant). Additional modifications include both cosmetic and engineering enhancements, and include:
- Programmable electronic aldon amethyst ignition
- 5-speed manual gearbox with 3. 9 differential
- High capacity alloy radiators and twin electric fans
- Louvered bonnet
- Evans waterless coolant
- Front MGB disc brakes
- Koni telescopic damper conversion on rear
- Electric power-steering by EZ
- Negatively earthed alternator
- Twin-Cam 'Dunlop' style alloy roadwheels with faux centre knock-on spinners
- Mota-Lita elegant period wood rimmed steering wheel
- Period radio
- Inertia reel seatbelts
- Luggage rack and straps
- Wind deflector
- Red tonneau cover
- Removable black vinyl hood and doors
This MGA drives superbly. It has been sympathetically enhanced without losing the charm or theatre of the original design. The electric power-steering is nicely weighted, whilst the supercharged 1800cc unit and 5-speed ‘box make for a more practical and enjoyable experience on today’s roads. A heritage certificate is included with this unique motorcar that needs to be seen and driven. The car is located and for sale at Leavenhalls Classic & Prestige in Shropshire. Any inspection welcomed.
