VW early bay deluxe, genuine bus owned since 2010, came in via fbi from switzerland. Had a top quality restoration then and still looks really great now. Didn't require a huge amount of metalwork, the doors, tailgate, engine lid, sliding door are all original with no work undertaken at the time. Had rear arches, sills, some work on the front panel, not a huge amount. Bare metal re-paint in original Niagra blue and pastel white.
Bay has undergone a steady programme of improvements to include: Red9 design front beam, RHD conversion, sensibly lowered, gas shocks, servo assist brakes, wide steels. Engine is essentially new, AS41 case, 1641 barrell and piston, new heads, engle torque cam, twin single choke carbs, electronic ignition, vintage speed stainless exhaust.
We retained all the original deluxe trim on the exterior so its looking great and original. We managed to retain the majority of all the trim internally so original seats, door cards etc.
we have replaced the steel sunroof with a Paris beetles vinyl type, we have retained the steel sunroof.
Rock and roll bed fitted to the rear, jump seat in the rear too.
Leisure battery fitted, blown air webasto heating, retro sounds stereo, vintage rosewood wheel and custom horn boss, painted dash.
