1968 E Type Jaguar S2 Roadster.
Supplied on special order by Elmbridge Motors in October 1968.
Being only the seventh Series 2 UK Right Hand Drive roadster off the production line, this immaculate example has a certain significance in the British marketplace.
She starts on the button and runs beautifully. Contained within the extensive history file is the buff logbook, Heritage Certificate, MOT test certificates dating back to 1979 and a letter from previous owner of 27 years Mr. Room, this is coupled with the invoices from recommissioning and any details since.
As a result of one the previous owners of 27 years living abroad, this car was in very careful storage for 20 years before being recommissioned in 2013. Having been stored perfectly, the recommissioning revealed the car was still in fabulous order. Full list of work carried out were -
Front discs and disc pads.
Rear discs and disc pads.
Rear hand brake disc pads, and linkages.
Petrol tank.
Petrol pump.
Petrol sender gauge (Tank)
New petrol pipes. Both rubber and copper.
Front shocks, and springs.
Rear shocks and springs.
Rear diff mountings.
Rear Axle (sub frame) mountings.
Engine mountings.
Exhaust (stainless steel) front sections and rear exhaust pipes.
Exhaust manifolds (vitreous enamel).
Prop shaft. New uj's and bearings, prop rebalanced.
Carbs totally rebuilt, new jets and needles, 0 rings, gaskets etc after ultrasound cleaning.
New clutch, pressure plate and thrust bearing.
New clutch master cylinder, oil reservoir and brake servo unit, and all brake hoses and copper pipes.
New water pump, and hoses.
New heater hoses.
Front suspension bushes, steering bushes, steering column bushes.
Rack and pinion overhauled, new track rod ends,
Anti roll bar bushes.
Radiator overhauled and pressure tested, all new radiator hoses and rad cap.
Radiator expansion cap and tank.
New distributer (Electronic) distributer cap, HT coil and HT leads and spark plugs.
Ref counter rebuilt and recalibrated.
Starter motor checked and tested.
Alternator checked and tested.
All wheel bearings replaced.
All oils, fluids and anti-freeze replaced.
There is a full history file with invoices and a list created by the owner to fully detail the works.
In 2016, the car was sold, and the previous owner was more than happy to purchase it. Using the car in European tours and regular trips the car presented in fabulous condition.
Eventually it was sold on and immediately taken to WinSpeed Motorsport, specialists in Jaguar engineering who performed a thorough work through, details of which can be found in the extensive history file.
