I am sad to see my MX5 go after only a year of ownership but here is one of the best cars this family has owned but sadly we have too many cars and don’t get to use the two seater enough!
It is such a great drive and as an automatic (rarely available!) is a smooth uncomplicated performer, hugging the bends and giving such an assured feel at any speed.
It has had 3 owners prior to us and has covered around 73, 000 miles and handles really well. There are a few scuffs and age related marks and blemishes but nothing to diminish the charm of this now classic sports car. The MX5 comes with chrome roll bars and leather seats together with a boot rack for weekend get away luggage, security immobiliser and spare radio/ compact disc player to further your in car entertainment. It comes with a second key. The manual convertible hood has a glass rear view screen and folds easily down behind the seats. The roof shows signs of its age but will serve for many years to come.
The interior is tidy and ’smoker free’ with all instruments working as they should.
It comes with an MOT until September 23 and passed with an advisory on one tyre which our local supplier said didn’t need replacing. The MX5 engine is well respected for its robust reliability and punchy delivery although equally happy taking the winding roads of Norfolk at 40mph. The undercarriage is pretty clean with some surface rust but generally sound and much as original and not concealed/ disguised by rust-proofing. The MX5 was purchased as a fun car for the weekend and occasional breaks away but it was not to be. It has mainly been used for trips to our local town at the weekends so the added mileage has been minimal. It is a complete joy to drive and although its a light sports car it holds to the road very well. You already love the look of this car but you will fall for its charms as soon as you fire her up.
Altogether a brilliant car and so much fun - unfortunately its not got 4 seats and space for two dogs and loads of poo bags therefore an old American SUV is what we have ended up with!!
