1968 Volkswagen Type 2 Early Bay, Tintop Camper.
DVLA Registered as a historic camper van, so fully ULEZ compliant.
Comprehensively restored in 2012 - with extensive photographic records documenting the extent of the work completed. In 2105 “just 4000 miles ago” the engine was replaced with a fully rebuilt 1641cc Big bore red block engine by the Engine Shop in Kent, which included, 87mm pistons, 009 distributor new clutch and built to run on unleaded fuel through its twin carburettors and fitted with a Stainless steel 4 into 1 manifold and stainless steel sports silencer.
The suspension is on, Transporterhaus 4" dropped spindles, with GAZ adjustable coil overs and Transporterhaus adjustable spring plates.
Recently fully trimmed in red and white vinyl, coco matting on the floor of the cab, “Rusty Lee” Rock ‘n’ Roll bed for sleeping in the rear, rear seat belts, removable table, curtains and leisure battery. Fully insulated and sound proofed, comes with a useful porta poti, pop up tent and a breathable car cover.
There are twin roofracks for extra luggage or surf boards and a useful removable towbar.
New MOT will be put on the camper even though it’s exempt. Exception condition recently fully serviced and check over by local classic car dealer.
