1994 ‘M’ registration, Volkswagen Corrado 2. 9 VR6 5 Speed manual.
Finished in Moonlight Blue with Black cloth interior.
First registered 14/ 10/ 1994 with 4 registered keepers from new and 98, 500 miles on the clock.
Current MOT until 03/ 10/ 2023
I bought the car as an unfinished project in May 2021, since then it’s had a lot of time and money spent on it to bring it up to a good standard.
The engine has been fully rebuilt, this included, but not limited to the following items:
• Bores honed and Mahle pistons fitted
• Crankshaft polished
• All bolts and bearings replaced
• Cylinder head stripped, tested and rebuilt with new valve guides etc
• New oil pump
• New timing chains
• New water pump
• New sump pan
• New engine management sensors
• Injectors tested and cleaned
• New spark plugs and leads
• New coil pack
• New fuel pressure regulator
The gearbox was stripped and rebuilt before being refitted with a new clutch
Engine ancillaries were replaced including the power steering pump and alternator
The brakes were fully overhauled as follows:
• All brake pipes and flexi hoses replaced
• Brake calipers replaced
• Brake discs and pads replaced
• Brake back plates replaced or refurbished
• Brake caliper carriers powder coated
• ABS unit tested for faults
The suspension was completely refreshed , including:
• Front subframe stripped and powder coated
• Rear axle stripped and powder coated
• All rubber bushes replaced
• Lower suspension arms replaced
• Anti roll bar stripped, powder coated and new link rods fitted
• All shock absorbers replaced with Bilstein B4’s including top mounts, bearings, bump stops and dust covers
• All coil springs replaced with Vogtland 30mm uprated lowering springs
• All wheel bearings replaced
All parts used were either genuine VW where available or the best quality parts I could source. I have a stack of parts receipts totalling thousands of pounds
I replaced the standard 15” wheels with a set of newly refurbished, genuine Audi 17” Competion wheels along with a set of new Toyo Proxes tyres. I do still have the original wheels which would come with the car.
After all the above items were addressed I put the car on the road at the end of August 2021
Since then I have driven the car on occasion and addressed a few common Corrado issues which became apparent.
The sunroof mechanism has been completely replaced with a mix of uprated and genuine parts and so now tilts and slides as intended
The boot spoiler raises at speed and also works via the button on the dash.
The heater matrix has been replaced and the heater box flaps re-covered with foam
The under bonnet sound deadening has recently been replaced to tidy up the engine bay.
The car is pretty much standard apart from the 17” Audi Competion wheels, 30mm lowering springs and the addition of a Milltek cat back exhaust. It comes with 2 keys, the original book pack although the service book is missing and even has the warning triangle still present in the seat back.
There is a folder full of invoices which came with the car when I bought it. This includes old MOT certificates, service receipts and an invoice from when the 2nd owner bought it as a used car in 1997. I have added to the collection with receipts from my ownership.
Before I put the car on the road all oils, fluids and filters were replaced. Since then I have changed the oil and filter twice.
The bodywork was in very good condition and needed minimal work.
This is a very reluctant sale but I’m hankering after a mk1 Golf GTI now.
