For sale is my pride and joy 2002 Subaru Forester STI-II Limited Type A
It pains me to get rid of this car, but I no longer need an estate and can afford insurance on something smaller now. The cars got a tonne of character and is spotless. I took me over 3 months of waiting to find the right one, full-service history from Japan and clearly had been looked after to the highest standard by the previous owner.
I imported the car through BHP Imports in Nov21. As I said I started looking for one in July so took a while. The car was a Grade 3. 5B at Auction, would have been a 4 but this was let down due to sunburn on the front of the roof. I originally planned to have this re-sprayed when I bought the car as I had both front and rear bumper done to clean it up a little. I didn’t bother in the end as was told it can’t get worse and it’s hardly noticeable. I do however plan to get the entire roof done if the car doesn’t sell as it is.
With it being an import, the car has no rust what so ever, I’ve included photos of the underside after it was under sealed by BHP. It’s just had a MOT and passed with no advisories at all.
Interior is fully standard and in superb condition. I have the original wool floor mats in the boot as I wanted to keep these clean and know how hard they are to get a hold of. There is a crack on the storage compartment on the dash but again, this never bothered me. Everything else inside is spotless, previous owner had a Panasonic Strada head unit fitted and Bluetooth etc works well.
There are a few very minor marks on the outside which I’ve pictured. Apart from that the paint is in seriously good condition for a 20 year old car and I’ve always done my best to take care of it. The Rays Wheels are OEM to this model and it’s hard to even find sets of these now. They have a minor amount of paint chip on the edge but was like that when I got the car.
The car has always been warmed up and allowed to cool down after driving. It’s got a Blitz turbo timer which I just used to set at 30 secs after driving although I wouldn’t be ragging it and then stopping so probably made no difference.
Modifications wise the only thing to mention is I had a Custom 3” Catback with 4” tip fitted by Cobra Sport in Jan22. It sounds awesome and even better when shifting under power. Really brought out that classic Subaru sound. It’s loud but not obnoxious.
The car has done 47, 000 miles, around 12k since I imported. It’s just had a full service and detail. It drives faultless, has full-service history from Japan and has really been taken care of it’s whole life. All original books are there including import documents, also a spare key which is quite rare. A great future classic, or family wagon for someone who wants something with some character.
Priced at £11, 000, this is due to the roof really needing re-painting if you want the car in mint condition. I’ve attached photos of this showing it best I can, it’s all lacquer damage and damage from removing the old wind deflectors. There is a slight scuff to the rear bumper (pictured) but again if it doesn’t sell I’ll be getting this re-painted.
I’m in no rush to sell, really must be viewed to be appreciated as you won’t find one as clean as this. If the car doesn’t sell, I will be getting the roof re-painted and listing back up for sale. The condition and rarity of this car is what really made me want one. I've loved having it, its been faultless since the day I got it. Again, sad to be getting rid but I hope someone else gets as much enjoyment from this as I have!
