Beschreibung
For Sale is my June 1997 Saab 9000 Aero, with the manual gearbox.
I purchased the car in January 2020, and it currently has 205, 500 miles recorded.
It is in mainly standard and original condition, the only modifications are a full Abbott Racing stainless steel exhaust system, and a set of adjustable Koni Shock absorbers.
A previous owner also fitted the car with a set of Carlsson alloy wheels, a considerable investment.
There is not a great deal of the car left that has done anything like the miles quoted, as during Covid lock down and since I have set about restoring what was already a very good car into the very best I could make it, both mechanically and bodily.
Prior to my ownership the car had already been in receipt of mechanical enhancement as follows:
19. 11. 2014 @ 192, 000 miles - The turbo charger rebuilt by 'The Turbo Guy' in Glasgow. Cost £228.
17. 2. 2015 @ 192, 600 miles - Engine rebuilt by JAMSAAB of Bristol.
Invoice for £1454.
A new clutch and slave cylinder were fitted at the same time.
Upon my purchase I set about removing any corrosion some of which existed to the underbody, and then future proofing against further rust. This work was entrusted to Saabflight of Heathfield in February 2020, who cut out all areas of corrosion, and made good, then undersealed the car.
A new battery; OE gear knob; heater motor; brake switch; various minor bulbs fitted. Cost of this work was £1786.

I think that's it! The car now looks and performs beautifully, it could be a year old! I have done the work so you don't have to, to coin a phrase.
The Saab pulls like a train, and will also return over 40 mpg cruising round the M25!
The car does have a high mileage but as said every issue has been addressed, replaced and future-proofed, and from not very far away the car looks like new, with another 25 years of life left in it.
Forget electric cars, this is genuinely green motoring in a green car!
The private number plate is not included. Sorry if some of the photos are not marvellous, they were taken in bright sunshine!
