Wasn't planning on selling this car however I'm unable to give it the TLC it needs due to lack of funds and knowledge. Selling as a running & driving project/ spares or repairs as it needs finishing.

Owned since December 2021. Despite appearances, it is a good car mechanically and fun to drive. The engine runs sweet and pulls hard in VTEC, not your usual oil burning H22 either. I purchased it from an F1 and touring car technician who recommissioned and went through the whole car after being laid up in dry storage for around 10 years (the underneath is very clean as a result). Part of this work included a replacement engine sourced from another BB4 import car, full service and cambelt + water pump, new tyres and more.

The car is an old show car and is very early-mid 2000s 'max power'/ need for speed era in appearance. A previous owner had spent fortunes having it airbrushed to a high standard using house of kolor paints, you will notice a samurai on the bonnet which is quite detailed but not to my taste personally, my plan was to perhaps wrap this as I think it would be a shame to paint over. Unfortunately the whole offside has been keyed so realistically the whole car needs respraying.

I enjoyed driving the car every now and again as a bit of a weekend toy until a taxi driver crashed into the back of me and another car last year which resulted in damage to the offside rear wing. Unfortunately the car was deemed uneconomical to repair and thus written off by the insurers as a Category S.

After what can only be described as an absolute nightmare going back and forward with the insurers, and struggling to find someone willing to work on the car, I finally had it repaired at some expense - as much of the damage as possible was pulled out and a new replacement panel was welded in place, as well as filler to shape as the repair panel only goes up so far. It now requires finishing with more filler to smooth before painting (see photos).

There is some rust coming through on the nearside rear wheel arch where these all go so it would probably be wise to sort both sides at the same time. Age-related marks all round.

After getting the car repaired, I pushed to get an MOT on it which is now has (until May 2024) however I was told that one of the shocks was weak. I decided to purchase a full set of new coilovers and have just had these fitted and set up. I still have the suspension that came off the car which I think are original shocks with lowered springs should the new buyer want them.

Overall then, this would be an ideal for someone with the time and knowledge to sort the bodywork out. Nice examples are now selling for £8k+ and are becoming increasingly hard to find so this could be a worthwhile project. Alternatively as a track car or just a source of spares (engine, gearbox etc). Engines alone are being listed for sale here on eBay in the £2k region.

I have included plenty of photos so you can see exactly what you are buying, please view all of them carefully as this forms part of the description.

If you've gotten this far, thank you for reading. I've tried to be as transparent as possible and include everything I know but I may have missed something.

No timewasters please and no swaps. The car owes me a lot more than I have listed it for, around £1300 spent in the last couple of months alone. If it doesn't sell then I will continue the project and teach myself how to finish bodywork and paint.

The car runs and drives and as it has an MOT, can be driven away.

If you have any questions at all, please just let me know.

Thanks for looking.

update: I have primered over the rear quarter for now just to make it a bit more weatherproof. See last few photos of what the car currently looks like. Some additional spec/ details of the car: fitted with cusco front strut brace, stainless tanabe exhaust (sounds great and not too loud), wings west spoiler with real carbon fibre wing (needs relacquering), NOS sparco recliners in excellent condition, hks pillar gauges with water and oil pressure, momo steering wheel, led door puddle lights.

The car comes with a complete book pack and holder, spare Honda blank key, and a folder full of old receipts which amount to thousands spent.
