1979 Datsun/ Nissan Skyline 240K-GT C210
For sale is this very rare and fine example of a C210 Nissan Skyline 240K-GT Coupe.
It is a UK supplied car from brand new from a dealer in Ipswich and is 1 of only 3000 ever supplied in Europe. Today it remains as only 1 of 10 registered in the UK with some of those presumed as later imports so it is a very rare car indeed.
As it was a UK car it is the 2 door coupe with the largest 2. 4 straight 6 engine mated to a manual gearbox putting out 140hp. The 100% original engine runs smooth and it drives very well down the road. The car has covered 80, 304 miles in its life with only 2500 miles since 2006 but has always been serviced and kept in great mechanical condition. The long MOT runs until 13th April 2024.
The car has been known to the owner since it was only 4 years old and he purchased the car 30 years ago as its 4th owner. As a professional painter himself he decided to give the car a minor restoration 20 years ago which included the following work:
2 brand new OEM front wings.
2 brand new OEM lower sills with the original rubbers
1 brand new OEM RH door skin (last ever part available from Nissan)
New clutch (still has original that worked fine)
New front suspension
New rear shocks
New exhaust system.
The car was fully resprayed in a Subaru blue to a further extent than original including inside the wheel arches as well as a stone chip base coat on the lower areas.
The underside and engine bay were fully wax-oiled throughout.
Wheels painted with custom two tone finish.
Engine accessories painted to match body colour.
The car has lots of service history and extensive MOT records to verify the attention this car has had on it over the past 3 decades and it is supplied with 2 sets of keys. There are also some spares of old parts and trims collected in the boot to come with the car.
The bodywork is still in fantastic condition given it was painted 20 years ago but it has never seen a drop of rain since then and has always been garage stored. There are a few marks on the plastic bumper ends and the trims but that is to be expected for a 44 year old car. Even the vinyl sunroof option is still in original condition.
The interior is completely original apart from an old Kenwood head unit and again is in great condition with no tears in the upholstery or trims and the dashboard is in perfect condition with no cracks. All the heater controls work correctly and it even has electric windows front and back!
All in all this is a survival car as most of the these succumbed to rust a long time ago but due to its extensive care and treatment over the last 30 years it remains in great condition as a rare and useable classic Japanese car. The heritage of the famous Skyline name needs no introduction so now is the chance to buy a lovely piece of Datsun and Nissan history.
