Very nice, clean 1966 MGB Roadster in the lovely and sought after Iris Blue. This colour is regarded as the most desirable partly as it looks so good and partly as the 1st ever MGB Roadster to come off the production line was Iris Blue.
The paintwork is very good with no rust issues. There are a couple of tiny chips which have been touched in and you would be hard pressed to find them and a very small dent in the bonnet, which I’ve not had addressed as it’s not particularly noticeable.
She runs really well, starts first time and will put a smile on your face.
I’ve owned her since May 2021, kept her in a garage, only taken her out when it’s dry and the sun’s shining, covering no more than about 500 miles in this time.
When I bought the car I was informed that during restoration the engine was rebuilt and the cylinder head converted to run unleaded fuel. There was a new fuel tank added and a new brake servo at this time too. More recently the brakes have been upgraded to cross drilled discs with Greenstuff pads and braided hoses. Also the rear suspension was treated to adjustable Spax shock absorbers and new parabolic springs and the front lever suspension set up was upgraded.
The carbs have been refurbed and KN filters have been added. The ignition has been converted to more reliable electronic with a high capacity coil.
A spin-off oil filter
Revotec electric cooling fan with thermostatic control, new radiator,
Single 12v battery,
Peco LB exhaust
The addition of a stainless period correct luggage rack would make it ideal for touring and add some real character. The wire wheels are not original as they never were but non the less it’s an option nearly everyone wants and look stunning. They are shod with full matching correct size radials.
Other period extras inc set of MG ribbed rubber mats and MG mudflaps.
The radio blanking plate is in the dash but the wiring is there to fit a radio should you wish.
The interior is excellent Black with Blue piping. The boot space is fully carpeted as is the spare wheel cover. There is a jack and mallet just in case and the spare is a get me home wire wheel.
The Black detachable hood and frame is excellent and also comes with a half zip full tonneau cover.
All in all, this is very reasonably priced to sell, a joy to drive and is cosmetically clean, with all the period extras you would want.
