I am the 6th owner of this very original Norton Model 19s which has been in my possession for 13 years, and has toured Spain and Scotland.
Matching frame and engine numbers.
Mechanical work includes:
Rebuilt head with new valves and guides by Mike Pemberton.
New piston rings.
Overhauled gearbox.
New clutch inserts.
New engine and gearbox sprockets.
New carburettor.
Petrol tank treated with 'Slosh' ethanol protection.
Two new 6 volt dry cell batteries connected in parallel.
Front forks overhauled with top and bottom bushes and new oil seals.
New wiring loom.
Dynamo and magneto professionally rebuilt with all major new parts.
Good tyres and inner tubes.
Have three magazine articles written about this particular machine and its adventures. It has a very unusual history.
Have several handbooks and a parts catalogue.
Have also kept a log of every ride.
The 68 year old bike is in beautiful condition , cruises effortlessly at 55mph. always returns over 70 mpg. and is incredibly reliable. I would have no hesitation in taking the Norton to the South of France and back.
I bought the Norton in March 2010 because I had enjoyed owning the same model when I was 16 and still savour that loud powerful exhaust note and its fabulous handling on bends.
