Description

Porsche 912. 1968 Short wheel base, 5 Gauge Dash, 5 Speed Dogleg Gearbox, Polo Red.
Survivor Unrestored Condition.
Original California car owned by myself as the 3rd UK owner for just over two years.

Mileage 129200 with a folder full of history going back to 1974. Also includes a copy of the original Kardex report that proves matching numbers engine and options fitted from new.

One lady owner who bought it in 1974 with 51k miles on the clock, she then added a further 70K miles driving in LA for the next 21 years until 1995. It appears she then moved to Tennessee and it sat in a garage there until 2006 when it was purchased by Music City Motorsports where it again sat until sold to the UK in 2011.

Minimal rust repair when it first entered the Uk, nothing since and nothing needed.
I have photos from the advert when for sale in the USA.

Best described as survivor condition with 70% original paint and all the period correct parts still there, orange stripe Porsche hood badge, wooden steering wheel and gear knob, California black and yellow license plate still with the car, original stereo and all original upholstery and carpets…presentable but 55years old.
No headliner but a new one is supplied with the car.
Still has the parking permits in the windows and on the rear view mirror, a true timewarp car.
Same key works the ignition and doors.

The car came into the UK on 121k miles in 2011 and has only completed 8k miles since, all the below works completed since.
Engine first rebuilt in 1979 at 54k miles then again in 2019 and fitted with a 1720 barrel and piston kit. New webber carbs.
Brakes, suspension and engine overhauled,
I was told the gearbox was rebuilt by John Walklett transmissions but no receipts to prove.
The one year only doorcards came with big speakers fitted so have replaced with new year correct items purchased in the USA.
Also fitted with a stainless steel Turbo Thomas exhaust (gives a nice not too loud sound).
New fuel tank.

I took it to Revival cars early this year for a full inspection and to attend to a lot of ‘issues’, it now runs like a dream and starts and runs great, would trust it with a drive into Europe.

Going through the receipts it’s had nearly 20k spent on it since its time in the uk and another $10, 000 during its time in the USA.

Enjoy as is without worrying about car parking dents, or paint it and sell for over double the price.
It's original, and has a few little jobs required to keep improving again but its straight, will all the original parts and without rust that I can see.
I’m only selling as it sits in my garage most of the time and doesn’t warrant the cost tied up in it.

Open to sensible offers and would consider an interesting (but much cheaper) part exchange... I fancy a 205 Gti project.
