Interior: Original Connolly leather in Cotswold with French Navy top roll and accents. No scuffs, wear, or holes; just a lovely patina. Wool carpets in matching French Navy with very slight wear.
Body: Finished in Silver Storm with chromed window surrounds and trim. No rust, scratches or damage. Odd stone chip and imperceptible ding on door. Recently detailed.
Wheels: Original 5 spoke alloys with no damage (see pics) and plenty of tread on tyres.
Mechanical: Drive is extremely smooth and comfortable. Plenty of power from 420bhp drive-drain, with the smoothest of gear changes. Engine is solid and near silent on idle. No knocks when running and revs around 1500 - 1750rpm at 70mph.
Electrical: Recent new battery as car is hardly driven. All lights (internal and external), gauges, switches, instruments, seats and A/ C function correctly.
Unique Feature 1: This particular car was ordered new with "wing vent delete". It gives it a cleaner and less aggressive look, after all it is a Bentley.
Unique Feature 2: Aficionados will spot that this particular vehicle has twin exhausts "Le Mans". In my opinion all Mulliner "wide body" cars should be twin exhaust to balance the look of the car having such a wide stance. In 2007 the previous owner commissioned JanSpeed to install the twins which are completely like factory finished (documented). I do 2 road trips a year (summer and winter) and in December 2021 bought this magnificent machine to drive around the north of Ireland... coast to coast. The drive was amazing and to do it in a Bentley was a pleasure and in a Continental R Mulliner "wide body"... well that was simply awesome! I have owned many Bentleys but the "wide body" is just so rare... 1 of 63 no less... I've had to make do with more available choices.
When this particular car became available through one of the most respected independent Bentley specialists in the UK I had to take a look. Initially I was sceptical of the generous mileage but I needn't be as it came with a nuts and bolts pre-sale prep worth £8478! On inspecting the car, I could not find a single fault. There was a box full of "stuff" including many show rosettes, 2 lever arch files of invoices, MOT certificates, history and paperwork, even car valeting receipts! . This Bentley was clearly enjoyed, pampered and cherished. No surprise as the previous owner (from 2006) was an RREC Committee Member (Wessex Section).
Just for fun, in summer 2022 I entered the car in the Tatton Park Classic Car Show where it won best "Bentley In Show" seeing off much more valuable and rarer Bentley's and Rolls Royce's (trophy included).
I normally only keep my cars for 1 year as another road trip requires another car, but this one has served me well with trips to Scotland and Cornwall. So with almost 2 years trouble free ownership, it is time to replace it with another road trip car.
I was told these cars are expensive to own and maintain. Remarkably I have only spent £1552 (all documented) and that includes 2 services! Testament to the care bestowed by previous owners.
Anyone who views this car will want to buy it, but there can only be one buyer. How often do they come up for sale in this condition with so much provenance?
I am willing to consider realistic offers.
