Description
Morris Mini Cooper 970s, Built 1964 registered 1965. The car has had the following works. stripped to bare shell and all corrosion addressed included-: new boot floor, front inner and outer wings, door skins, outer and inner cills, full repaint. This work was carried out by Old Skool Minis. rear and front subframes rebuilt, new hi los and rubber cones, new brake pipes, new brake backplates wheel cylinders and drums, new handbrake cables, new wheel bearings, new bilstein dampers, new fuel pump. Front subframe rebuilt, new brake pipes new wheel bearings, rebuilt and replated calipers, new discs, rebuilt re plated servo , new brake pipes, Japanese ball joints . Engine stripped inspected and rebuilt using new lightened flywheel and clutch, new oil pump, new cam bearings, new rocker shaft, new starter motor, lumenition electronic ignition, new piston rings, carburettors stripped cleaned and rebuilt with new spindles butterflies jets and needles. Car was re assembled with new period correct loom re upholstered front seats and carpets. instruments rebuilt. Chrome ashtrays column bracket re plaited. Car was then taken to Northampton motorsport and set up on rolling road .
Car is currently on a 4 synchro box but correct box is available if price is met. I enjoy restoring cars, always wanted the rarest of the rare a 970s. I enjoyed building and tackling the many challenges to build a classic mini with a few updates ( ignition, 4 syncro box, Hi Los and Japanese maintenance free ball joints). More mature years mean I now realise time has come to let someone else enjoy this classic Mini .
