Polo GT coupe for sale ….. 100% genuine private sale of my genuine lovely original Polo GT.
Purchased 2 1/ 2 years ago from a great classic car garage that had acquired it from the very long term owner…. I was looking into buying a G40 but one in this condition would be £12-15k and I spotted this at a classic car dealership and I just had to have it.
Always been garaged and it shows…. This isn’t a car that’s been tarted up to look nice or restored etc…. It’s a car that just is nice and original.
Down to dealer plates/ matching glass/ good lights/ factory paint/ good rubbers / stereo etc etc…. Only none original parts are the Brand new Spax adjustable suspension kit that I’ve only just had fitted and has only covered say 100 miles. Transformed the handling and feel plus the looks… (original shocks will come with the car).
It’s pains me to sell it…. Re-mortgage is looking a bit painful plus my son is about to start learning to drive but he’s not coming anywhere near this beauty!

Great history… had a major service upon my purchase including cambelt etc and even a full matching set of brand new Toyo’s just gone on…. It’s a car that wants for nothing that you can tuck away as an investment and get out to enjoy and use when it suits… I never drive it on gritted roads and it’s barely seen rain ( rare car full stop let alone like this )
I’ve just got it back from the garage with the suspension sorted and a fresh oil service so it’s ready to go to its new home.
I’ve done less than 2000 miles in 2 1/ 2 years ( mainly weekends out or car shows/ events ) and it’s a luxury sat in the garage that I can no longer justify sitting and not being used.
I think the pictures tell you a lot… it really isn’t your average example and it always puts a smile on people’s faces with passing comments on every journey….
It’s not a hot hatch but it’s fairly nippy and with the Spax now fitted it’s a hoot to drive on a nice A or B road ( surprisingly so )
If it was a hot hatch from this era and condition it’d be double or treble the price! So I feel this offers an affordable useable classic that’s got 85% of the vibes of the Mk1 Gti or G40 for example..
Same style of sport seats, sports wheel and leather knob, rev counter clocks and trim… Black sporty interior and roof lining in this one…. the plastic arch extensions and so on… it really is a baby Gti and the 1. 3i multipoint injection gives you enough to keep up with modern traffic with ease while giving great MPG and running costs.
Love this little car as you can probably tell and I just want it to go to a good home and I’ll happily sit on it until the right buyer finds it…as I get to own it that bit longer…. And with less than 100 examples left on the road the chances of me getting another like it are slim so again please no silly offers… especially without even viewing the car.
It’s currently available to view and is on the road with a long MOT and currently taxed and insured so I can take you out in her..
I’ve many pictures and I’ll happily talk on the phone or send more images etc at request…It’s a great car to start any collection or to enhance an already existing one… True useable classic needing nothing as it’s had so many new parts and service items… never intended to sell it and grab a car that’s sorted and read to drive or show and enjoy…. It’s got something like 20 Main dealer stamps and has a FVWSH until my ownership…. Cherishes example always garaged and it shows… Lovely bright colours inside and out and even smells good inside ( dare I say like a new car of old )…. So rare as it’s all original and I’d sold on its original wheels.
Pics show some alloys I toyed around with some period ideas but went back to stock…. I have the MIM 5 spokes still if anyone wanted to purchase those separately.
You won’t be wasting your time on this little car….
