1952 Chevrolet Stepside pickup

Here you have a prime example of a genuine 1952 pickup truck, with her original paint ( what's left of it) her patina has been created by mother nature herself. Worn out patches on the roof and bonnet holds tales of children in the 50s/ 60s sat on the roof or bonnet whilst the truck would chug along in 1st gear on tick over being steered by ruts in the ground whilst crates of apples be slung in the back. She would of been motored by the same engine model and design as this one. The original engine blew up when I bought her some what 6years ago, previous owners poor maintenance resulted in this !!. I sourced another 216 cubic inch 3. 9ltr straight 6 , with only 40k on the clock from the donor. Thus engine currently in this truck proves to be bullet proof like they said, coupled to a new carb, runs smooth and reliable and achieving up to 20mpg . Running specs are 2700rpm at 50mph. This truck has only ever been housed in a dry garage , she has a few oil leaks wouldn't you at 75yrs ( engine from a 48) nee shocks , battery fitted , new wiring loom in 2017, interior light works, 3 top markers and all the normal lights. I've bought a house and spent a lot on it and taking a new hobby in flying , tax and mot exempt , cheap insurance and a great truck. Any questions welcome, will be sad to let herThese trucks were very popular back in the 50/ 60s their simple science mechanics were presented for any average folk to be able to fix somthing and get out of a muddle. Just imagine, this truck would of hauled goods and earnt that farmer or whoever , a living , and roads in America stretched for miles before a garage came up , you could be walking hours in heat just to find a payphone , no mobiles !!!! So it was important to factor all this in during manufacturing, now days cars are designed for only the dealership to fix and not us.
