Description
Reluctantly selling my Aero 8 as my Arthritis is making it too difficult to get in and out of. I'm the second owner and have owned it the last 9 years.
This is the Series 4 with the 4. 8 V8 BMW engine with Automatic gear box which makes it easier to drive than the earlier ones and can be put into semi automatic mode for more control.
It has recently had a full suspension upgrade from SSL Suspension.
It has also had the Bimmerfix Coolant upgrade as these engines of this age are prone to developing a coolant leak in the central valley. The water pump was also replaced when this was carried out.
Everything works as it should but it is a Morgan so there is always some fettling to be done.
Boot has been modified to open wider allowing easier access, you can fit in 2 suitcases easily or if you're a golfer then a set of golf clubs no problem apparently.
It has done over 74k miles and as such the paint work and leather is not like new.
The paint work is bubbling in places due to oxidisation of the aluminium underneath, the good news it that as it is aluminium it isn't rust like steel. With it being Matte Paint any marks and scratches can't be polished out or invisibly repaired. I have included a couple of photos as an example. Everyone who sees the car thinks it adds character.
In 2012/ 2013 it had a rebuild and new chassis fitted by Richard Thorne
Has been serviced by Main dealers and Independent Morgan Specialists.
Car also comes with the factory hard top and another set of Alloy wheels as I have summer and winter tyres, the last photo shows the other set of wheels. I brought this particular car as it was an automatic and actually improves the driving experience of the Aero 8 in my opinion. This particular Aero 8 was the first to be fitted with the rare dual twin side exhausts which gives it a lovely sound! with people commenting it sounds like a Lancaster...
I was actually looking for a Cobra replica when a very good friend of mine who used to work for a Morgan dealer pushed me towards the Aero 8, after going out in a few I fell in love with this one. Between him and my local garage (they developed and built the Morgan CX-T for Morgan) they have maintained the car.
This car cannot be driven anywhere without adding on time for people to come over and talk to you, take photos and ask you to rev the engine. It has been described as the Batmobile and Cruella's car by many people.
