Owned as part of a small private collection and now for sale, one of the last e30 Convertibles off the production line. Apr 1993, 318i Lux convertible in vibrant Lagoon green complimented by a full Anthracite grey leather interior, manual gearbox. Half electric/ manual roof. Electric windows, PAS, discs all round, aftermarket stereo with original electric aerial.
Serviced in Aug 2023 with all genuine BMW parts, oil filter, sump gasket, auxilary belts, coolant and brake fluid change. 108, 500k miles. MoT expiry 26 June 2024 - no advisories in the past 4 years.
In Summer 2022 this vehicle underwent a professional underside restoration that included the following work:. All bushes replaced for genuine BMW oem, rear subrame, beam and ARB. Anti-roll bar re-painted, Differential blasted & re-painted. New rear brake lines professionally installed. New Lemforder drop
links on front and rear. New front control arms, genuine BMW ARB bushes.
Other items replaced during this time include: Rear handbrake shoes, windscreen washer pump, Bosch starting motor, battery & wiper blades, new genuine BMW front chrome grill, genuine rear boot badge, genuine gearknob and front bonnet badge
2023 Professional paint from respected local bodyshop (ex-BMW approved) to address rear arch, bottom rear valance and inside door shut, no rust. All door mouldings and front and rear bumper inserts have been restored to their original factory black finish.
This car is solid in all the right places i. e. battery holder under bonnet. It would be fair to say that in general the paint on this car is in nice condition but also take into consideration this is a 30yr old car and hasnt had a full re-spray, retaining as much genuine paint as possible, therefore there are a few marks that have been paint-pen touched in from previous owners.
Importantly the roof was replaced in 2016, and still in nice condition although it does has 3 very small nicks but causing no ingress of water.
Another important area is the dashboard which is in very nice condition with only a very small crack (approx 10mm) - compared to the usual large cracks to be found on most e30's (a common issue)
Interior can be described as in nice condition and the seats are comfortable and very nicely designed but again consideration to the leather being 30yrs old, a gentle restoration of this would suit the car.
Vehicle will be sold with option of gold/ chrome BBS 15' split rims (reps) or original genuine BMW BBS 15’ cross spoke alloys which have just been professionally refurbished and not fitted back into car since (picture included to show these post refurb)This lovely BMW is ready to enjoy and drives beautifully, the lightweight and punchy 318 engine & manual gearbox are smooth with no notches. This car not only drives really well but in stunning Lagoon Green is Chameleon like, popping Aqua in bright sunshine and turning more Boston in darker light. It is a real head turner and its surprising that it has admirers from a much younger generation of followers than you would expect, as well the older generations that reminisce and remember this model when it was a new car. It is complimented everywhere it goes, it was a pretty car 30 years ago and still is to this day.
