For Sale is my May 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk. 2 8-valve, 1781cc producing 112 bhp. Fitted with the smaller bumpers. It is finished in Diamond Silver Metallic and has the optional and attractive 6J x 14" Pirelli P-Slot alloy wheels.
The car is in standard original condition, and has covered a mere 66, 300 miles with a full service history, as follows:
Delivery service, then at 10, 104 miles; 19490; 31813; 46, 500; 51588; 60, 577; 64711 and then by me at 66084 miles, where I had my garage go right through the car and the following work carried out:
New MOT; new timing belt; New brake fluid; New gearbox oil; New Bosch battery; New clutch cable + full service - £882 spent!
At 64568 miles the centre and rear exhaust were replaced. Included is a full size spare wheel, complete with the special fitted boot carpet which properly covers that wheel in the boot. 2 sets of keys on VW leather fobs.
The car is in superb rust free condition, including the underneath, with excellent paintwork, with an un blemished unmarked interior, all completely commensurate with the low mileage.
The Golf has had 6 former keepers, the last but one buying the car at 64000 miles from specialist classic car dealer, 4Star Classics of Surrey.
This is a really immaculate example of a sought after modern classic with a very attractive and verifiable low mileage. It wants for nothing other than to be driven and enjoyed. The full book pack is present, together with a huge history file containing all previous invoices, MOT certificates etc, and a couple of nice brochures. Only 3 short years and the car will be eligible for 'Historic' status, so no tax or MOT, and ULEZ free! Can't be bad. An unexpected redunduntcy causes me to sell this vehicle, together with my equally immaculate Porsche 944 and Saab 9000 Aero. Sad but true!
Priced to sell, the car photographed on my driveway and looks much better in the flesh than my poor photography shows! I will also include the near new and high quality Hamilton car cover, which was nearly £200.
