Rover 3 litre 1965 automatic
This is a very well presented car with 90% original paint work and never been welded.
Drive's superb with nice gear changing and a strong good engine. Only 3 owners from new. Light grey interior in superb condition for the year with only a very few age related marks. A beautiful claret plum colour this would make an ideal wedding car.
The history of the car:
This car was purchased from a Rover dealership in Bromley Kent, by an Irish gentleman Mr Frank Morley and was first registered on 1st March 1965as DYM980C.
The car remained in his possession until he passed away in 1997. It had very little use in his ownership hence it's low mileage. it was then inherited by his son, Mr John Stewart Powdall Morley and subsequently taken to Ireland where he lived.
I understand that the car has been garaged all its life and it is clearly evident from the superb unrestored condition that it has been properly cherished from new. The car is completely rust free and is virtually original internally and externally. The mileage is extremely low at 44000 miles with many old MOTs to show evidence that the history and mileage of this vehicle is so genuine. It comes with original Rover manuals, full tool kit and original touch up paint. It has its original patina and the interior has that lovely smell that you only get from luxurious old cars.
We Lenham classic and sports cars are selling the Rover on behalf of the owner Mr Christopher Stephen Jarvis these are his word's. I brought the car from an ex colleague, Mr Tony Boyce who lives in Ireland and as soon as I was made aware that it was for sale, l arranged a flight to Belfast to view the car. He met me at the airport and drove 100 miles across country to where it was parked in his garage. The following day I undertook a full inspection and could not believe the overall condition of it. I drove it for a faultless 70 miles around the mountains and the rest is history.
I arranged the repatriation to the UK and duly met the transporter at junction 8 of the M20 near Leeds castle in Kent.
The car was re-registered back to the UK with DVLA and now bears it's original registration DYM980C. It has been garaged during my ownership and has never been out in the rain.
I hope it's next owner treat's it with the same care and respect and I am confident it will go on to grace the roads for many more years to come. You will be guaranteed lots of admiring glances and a big smile when you drive it.
It comes with a lot of documentation and pictures, also memorabilia and magazines which the car was in and some new parts.
