For sale is my 1980 Mercedes 280E automatic W123 saloon finished in Walnut Brown.

It has 121, 000 on the clock and has 8 previous owners.

Being a 1980 model it is tax and MoT exempt. I put it through an MoT last year (August) which it passed with just one advisory - a minor oil leak.

I have owned this for just over 3 years and originally planned it as a long term investment but with three young children I rarely get the chance to use it. In fact I've barely done any miles since I've owned it.

I spent a number of years looking for a W123 as I wanted a 280E in this period colour. It's unusual in having no sunroof and no electric windows. The upside being there's less to go wrong.

Mechanically it's spot on, starting every time and running really well with plenty of power on tap still.

It had a recent oil and filter change (August 2023), new plugs and leads in 2022 and a transmission fluid change in 2021. The gearbox changes are smooth and it kicks down with no issues.

Bodywork wise it is straight with good arches. There have been some repairs in the past which are now evident, there is grazing on one of the front wings.

Sometime in its history someone has (poorly) repaired the section under one of the rear lights (shown in the pictures). There are also some surface rust spots showing on the lower doors.

Underneath it is really solid though, benefitting from being waxoyled in 2017.

The Bundt alloy wheels are in good condition and are fitted with four matching Dunlop tyres.

The inside is in really good condition with the leather seats in great nick offering plenty of support still while there are no cracks on the dash. It has a period Becker cassette radio (complete with instructions) that I had professionally fitted along with recreation OEM mats.

Everything works as it should - aside from the odometer which unfortunately stopped working just after its MoT.

It has some history/ receipts with MoTs back to 2000 but sadly nothing comprehensive from the early part of its life.

I'll be very sad to see this go as I've enjoyed owning it but the reality is, I don't get to drive it very much. I bought it as it seemed a well cared for car and I've tried to continue that.

During its time with me it's been continually garaged and never driven in the rain.
