i purchased this superb citroen 2cv dolly from the seller in whitchurch, shropshire 2 weeks ago.
i saw this car on the wednesday and called to arrange a visit with 2 local 2cv mechanics, who i have known for many years, on the friday. i have owned several 2cv’s over the years, although not for some time.
i admit i love 2cv’s; i am now a 69 years old pensioner with breathing difficulties, looking to drive a fun car once again.
we were all impressed with the photographs and description provided and we drove to whitchurch from manchester in an estate car, prepared with an ‘a’ frame in the boot.
many excellent features including a new roof etc, stereo with detachable cover, remote control and 2 power slots/ radio has direct line-in or bluetooth. the 2cv also has lights on the dash for indicators and main beam. the seller had used the car for weddings and kept the car in an excellent condition. his main reason for selling was that he would soon lose access to the garage where it was kept.
after a test drive and inspection, we agreed on a price £12, 000. we brought the car back to manchester on the ‘a’ frame.
i taxed the car online and on the saturday i arranged the insurance online and drove excitedly to see my grandaughters. they loved it, as i expected! unfortunatly i had become used to power steering and modern braking over the years - i had forgotten what it was like to drive a 2cv. when i came to do a 3-point turn in the evening i found it very difficult to turn the steering from stationary and became breathless.
ideally this superb car needs to be garaged and kept clean and polished, which i am unable to do with the car on my driveway. i now realise i have made a mistake buying this car with my age and the condition of my health.
the previous seller kindly agreed to share his descripton and photographs with me.
i am willing to accept a loss on the sale for a reduced price of £11, 500 or best offer.

FROM 1997-2014 THE CAR WAS STORED IN THEIR GARAGE BEFORE A CLASSIC CAR DEALER CARRIED OUT WORK TO PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD, AT WHICH POINT THE PREVIOUS (2ND) OWNER PURCHASED THE CAR.
