Description

Alvis 12-50 1927
TG Wide Body Two Seater and Dickey by Cross and Ellis.
Running well and in regular use, with an oh-so-useful overdrive fitted. The main photograph is a snap of the finish podium of the last Manchester to Blackpool Run (1922).
This very usable and original car seems largely unaltered since new, although it has had a colour change from dark blue over black.
Cosmetically challenged and you might wish to change that, but I don’t and General Public seems to like it as is.
Huge amount of history with details of the original owner’s expenditure, right down to amount of oil added and when, together with lovely period photos. Correspondence between him, Dr Dynes, and T G John at the factory are set out in ‘The Vintage Alvis’ 2nd edition, pp338 on. Original letters are with car history file. It is all lovely material to study and delve.
The car is regretfully for sale only due to space loss.
Come and see (near Preston, Lancs.). Bring your curiosity and tyre kicking equipment.
Around £22k I think, but offers please when you’ve seen the car.
