MAY BE INTERESTED IN SWAP FOR A HONDA TRANSALP Selling my pretty little Triumph 3TA 350cc to fund another bike. I bought this last year as a nostalgia trip, the first bike I restored back in the 70s was one of these. This one had been recently restored ( not by me) but has been done to a very good standard. It has matching frame and engine numbers however the registration number is non transferable. There is no history with the bike sadly but it seems based on my experience that it has been well looked after, the crank casings are clean with no leaks, the oil is fresh, and the overall condition is very tidy. The speedometer has obviously been replaced as it has a very low mileage on the odometer. This bike has been restored to a good standard and is classed as historic so tax and mot no longer necessary. The chap I bought it from had done all of the work restoring the tank side panels wiring and fuel system, the engine was left unrestored as there is no reason to take it apart as it runs well. It has electronic ignition, has been rewired to a good standard, been repainted in this fetching duck egg blue again to a good standard. It starts easily, goes through the gears smoothly, and rides well. However like many older British bikes there is a slight leak from one of the rockers but by no means excessive or a major issue. The carburettor could do with setting up a little better but being the standard Amal Monobloc this should be straightforward. The front end is Yamaha forks with a Norton brake this sensible addition of the larger drum brake gives better stopping power, this is a common upgrade from the standard 7 inch feeble drum brake. I have not done many miles on it as my personal circumstances have afforded me very little time recently and I have other bikes.
I have decided due to my circumstances to whittle down my collection of bikes to fund one 'classic' that I have set my mind on so this and my other bikes will be up for sale.
