Norton
Model 18 ohv Flat tank
This machine has been purchased for about 30 years and was driven occasionally in the 90s. The motorcycle was then presented with a red veteran license plate at events or in closed areas.
Made ready to drive again today, in summer 2023. It starts well and drives well too.
Nothing was changed after purchase, so the engine with number 36607 was installed by the factory in a Model 18 that was sold to Australia or New Zealand in November 1927. The frame number is 27685 and could not be determined. The overall appearance of the vehicle looks more like 1928. Details such as the magnet and carburettor are probably not correct on this model, the primary chain case may have been installed as a request, but probably only in normal sale in 1929. The brakes are 8 inch, which was probably possible on request. Series 7 inch. The tank is soldered and so far tight, it probably needs to be rebuilt.
Horrible for some... The rims are Japanese, which can be changed.
Overall, a nice motorcycle with considerable potential for increasing value. Much more on oldbike-th. de
