1968 Corvette C3 Turbo Jet 427/ 390 L68 T-Top with the L88 Look
This Corvette hits all the tick boxes, 1968 , chrome bumbers , 427 big block 7 litre engine, 4 speed manual gearbox, and with the L88 hood which personally I think looks so much better than stock
This Corvette was brought to the UK in 2016 the previous owner took on a labour of love restoring this car to what is a beautiful example, this included restoring the car to it's original specifiation with Silverstone Silver paintwork and Black Vinyl interior.
The Corvette was registered in 2018 after 2 years , and I took ownership of the car in 2020, the milage is currently showing around 800 miles, which is the mileage since the restoration, it has covered only a couple of hundred miles each year.
The restoration is a mixture of new parts and keeping the good existing elements , which gives the car a lovely patina
The previous owner completed the following work:
Exterior:
High quaiity respray in Original Silverstone Silver, New badges, New Mirrors, New Front Grilles, New Front Spoiler, Restored Hub Caps and New Beauty Rings, New Chrome Plated Surround and Grill Surrounds, Complete set of new rubbers ( T-Tops, Doors, Rear Window, Door Felts etc)
Interior:
New Dash, Centre Console and Shifter Surround, New Seatbelts (Lap), New Carpet, New Seat Padding (Backs & Covers), New Door Panels, New retro look compatible radio with aux in and new speakers, Converted Tacho from analogue to electronic, new oil pressure gauge, clock converted to crystal, New original mats, New door handles, lock handles , bezel emblem and lighter, New shifter shaft, shifter boot cover and gear knob.
Engine:
New Holley 750 Double Pumper, New HEI distributor, replacement OEN rocker covers, hoses all replaced, new starter motor.
Other:
New vacumm system ( hose now has a small hole , will be replace before sale)
New heater system
New stainless steel exhaust
Rebuilt original shifter
New WIndscreen washer
New fuel sender unit
New EU spec headlights
New ignition cylinder.

Partial rewire
New window motors
Reconditioned calipers, new brake booster
Reconditioned steering pump, new PS slave cylinder, new bushes and joints
New Bilstein B6 shock absorbers
Serviced each year , Last service July 2022 (£600), will be booked in for full service and to have some minor fettling upon sale, so that it is in the best possible condition for new owner
This car is now 55 years old, anyone who knows classics knows there will always be something, this is genuinely pretty good, in the service before it's sold there is a couple of things that will need looking at but it drives superbly and gets admiring looks whenever the corvette is out and about.
