Description
Here I have for sale a K1200GT. The last of BMW's 'Flying Brick' engine design. These are designed to munch up miles in comfort, one or two up. Equipped with factory luggage, heated grips, adjustable handle bars, foot rests and seat.
I bought this 3 years ago with the intention of replacing my R1100RT which struggled a bit on Alpine tours fully laden with a pillion. (She always wanted to bring the kitchen sink)
I had the bike thoroughly overhauled after purchase at a BMW specialist garage familiar with working on these bikes, (ex Met Police motorcycle Technicians). This was mattered to me due to its intended use. Importantly, the combined ABS/ servo brakes works and the brake fluid has been changed. The water/ oil pump has been replaced and the bushes in the rear Paralever replaced with a Motorworks bush kit. Needless to say the tyres were replaced with new Bridgestones.
The only thing that doesn't work is the heated seat. In good condition for a bike of it's age and I did look at a number before I found this one. There are, as you should expect, on a bike of its age some minor scuffs and tarnished fastners. The colour really suits the bike's shape, in my opinion.
So why is it for sale? Well due to on-going Family health issues my ability to go abroad on a bike have been curtailed.
Viewing is welcome.
