Description

Relisted due to the previous purchaser letting me down on the day of collection.

Meet Ron, my Rover Mini Cooper 1. 3i. I purchased Ron in December 2021 from a Classic Mini dealer with an incredible reputation. He imported the most pristine Mini's imaginable from Japan. He has now unfortunately retired; this was one of the last few Mini's he imported.

Fresh MOT as of 12th September, expiring on the 19th September 2024. Flew through it with no advisories. Had a full service on the same day.

I've had the most fun with this car. It has never let me down, and I will miss it dearly. However due to a young, growing family that can no longer squeeze into the car, I just no longer have the time to enjoy it, and would rather someone else take the reigns as he absolutely deserves to be enjoyed as frequently as possible.

Being an import from Japan, Ron was originally made in the UK specifically for the Japanese market. This means that Ron has aircon, unlike the Mini's manufactured for the British market. It also means that Ron lived in a warmer, dryer climate with no salts on the road. Ultimately this has lead to absolutely zero corrosion in his life of 25 years; there is not a spot of rust, bubbling or rot in sight, which was confirmed in September by the mechanic who completed the service and MOT. He said it's the best Mini he has seen in years.

The bodywork and paintwork is pristine. It's hard to believe that the car is 25 years old and has never been resprayed as it looks like new. It gets a lot of attention no matter where you take it. The automatic gearbox is smooth, shifts quickly and is great fun, a real go-kart, and will be worth a fortune in the future as they're only getting rarer, and less and less people want manual cars.

Since my ownership (I am the first owner on British soil) I have only ever taken the car out on dry, warm days, and it has been kept under a high-quality cover in my garage. The most premium petrol available always used, and I always use Redex with every refuel to keep everything as clean as possible.

Interior is full leather, and being the latest production Mini, has the drivers airbag in the steering wheel. The only nag here is that there's a couple of small cracks in the walnut dashboard near the speedometer (see pictures) which is pretty standard in these.

The only other nag is that the lock on the drivers side door isn't working properly. It does lock, but only from the inside. For some reason the key will not turn. I'm told a simple fix, I just haven't got around to looking at it. It hasn't caused any issues. When I'm out and about, I just lean in through the passenger side to lock the door from the inside, and then lock the passenger door with a key.

Based in Bourne, Lincolnshire. Private sale, so must be collected. Funds must clear before I let him go.
