Iv finally taken the plunge and decided to start on converting to a Fast Road car. Iv already pulled the front suspension down, powder coated the suspension arms etc, replace all I can to make it perfect, fitted Monte Carlo Springs etc. Obviously kept all the race stuff.
I'm planning to repaint the car to all white.
Iv decided to keep the engine and maybe de tune to a R17 or R20 cam, should be a riot on the road. Will be selling the Jack Knight box and fit a new uprated normal box. If anyone is interested then it can be tailored to their taste if required. Iv just replaced a couple of gaskets on the engine due to very slight oil leaks, also had the exhaust manifold off and the Inlet ports look amazing, I took pictures etc, engine looks to be in great condition.
Finally got to the bottom of the engine and gearbox history, The last Engine and Gearbox rebuild was done by Dennis Alt of Transimp and only completed 2 races since. I can provide more info over the phone.
Change of plans are forcing this sale of a stunning full race Hillman Imp which is road registered. The body shell is the best i have seen. From front to rear, the items that have been fitted is truly amazing and an absolute fortune has been spent from the last three owners. This is not just a paint job car. The car was initially built by Rae Davis and raced along with Tony Jardine at Goodwood and the Top Hat series. The info I have revolves mostly around the owner after Rae who spent a substantial amount with a company to professionally run the car, doesn't come cheap for sure.
