Description
LAVERDA MIRAGE SERIES 2 180 deg
1981
Series Two Mirage with the later alternator etc.
One of the last of the 180s .
Roger Slater has confirmed to me by email that it was sold new in the UK by Three Cross.
This Mirage comes with A11 cams for a broad-spread of power and the std 32mm Dellorto pumpers.
Upgraded with Sachse electronic ignition, Fontana(?) shock absorbers, smaller Brembo front brake master cylinder for pinsharp braking at the right ratio, Stainless Jota silencers, Goodridge hoses, Jota humped seat, good Avon RoadRider tyres and a much better, very useable aftermarket side-stand.
This bike comes with loads of history and has been looked after by the UK’s Laverda Good Fellas: Keith Nairn of Laverda Scozia who knew the bike and it’s last two owners well when I spoke to him and more recently Ged of GCS in Dorset who’s just changed the oil, checked the ignition timing and redone the valve clearances, and declared himself happy with the bike’s running
Running like a top.
Comes with factory Manual, Sachse ign. handbook and genuine Laverda Indicators.
UK V5C in my name, registered as an Historic vehicle and currently SORNed for winter.
See photos; the paintwork is a bit scruffy but easily sorted.
Realistically priced to get yourself a good, sound 180 triple compared to current Jota prices; and one you can ride or tidy as you wish. Come and kick the tyres and make me an offer. I will listen!Long overlooked, the Breganza Beast tifosi have begun waking up to the fact the 1200s are a better, more rideable, live-able-with experience than Jotas. In any case the first performance tweak for a Jota was to bore it out to 1200 for longer legs and more torque
