Finally decided to sell my 1979 Spitfire 1500. It has been a lot of fun. Work done over the last few years -
I had a new rear valance put in (front valance is fibreglass) about two years ago.
Had new jets put in the carbs about 2 years ago, Changed rear brake shoes (front disks may need doing, but braking isn't bad), handbrake cable, new light switch, new headlight. Fuse box has been moved from engine area to glove box.
More recently changed track rod ends, new exhaust bracket, new battery, 4 new tyres around a year/ year and a half ago.
Couple of months ago put another new fuel pump and fuel lines in, and tuned carbs again, and she starts and runs pretty well.
Over the last few years it has pulled well up hills and mostly been pretty nippy. There might be a small oil leak from rear differential but I haven't noticed anything recently.
Good points ? dials work fine, as do all lights. Seat covers are fairly good. Gear changes are decent. Compression is ok, I think. Bad points ? Sills need attention.
Comes with a roof/ tonneau (tear in one Perspex window panel though), plus ramps, manual, and various bits and pieces if useful. Worked on it since September 2020. Previous owner in Birmingham area, and one or two owners before that.
