Volkswagen Golf MK4 GTI 25th Anniversary Edition PD150
November 2002 registered, plaque number 0773, 91, 000 miles on the clock. Finished in Finished in Black Magic Pearl.
I purchased this car back in May 21, from the previous owner, whose family owned the car in excess of 10 years. It has been in dry storage off the road since. My intention was to keep onto this car until closer to 2027. It’s hard to imagine that the vehicle produced to commemorate 25 years of the GTI is itself nearing 25 years old. But, new project forces sale.
In my ownership, I have done the following.
Bottom ball joints (OS and NS)
NSF brake flexi hose
Rear damper bump stops
New discs and pads
Air, oil and fuel filter
Fresh engine oil.
Replaced inner CV joint
Very original, unmolested car. Drives just as expected a mk4 Golf with 90k on the clock would. Interior is good, bolsters on the Recaros are nice. Body work is again good for age, light scratch NS rear quarter (visible in images). Underneath is good (can be inspected as I have a 2 post ramp). Wheels, although straight there are signs of corrosion (see images) so will require a refurb, that was the next job on the list. Tyres are good with in excess of 5mm tread depth.
There is an issue, where the radio, heater, interior light, electric windows and key fob lock will not function. I have been advised that this is related to the Comfort Control Module, a new module is required along with getting it coded.
Because of this, I have not had the car MOT’d but, mechanically I can’t see an issue with the car. Please check online for previous MOT history.
Plaque number 19001, the original plaque was lost and the previous owner contacted VW, who issued a replacement number (19901) the final image shows this letter explaining it.
Comes with only one key, vehicle documentation pack which includes, radio manual, owner’s manual and inspection and maintenance plan. V5 is in my name.
Nice, unmolested low mileage example, with lots of potential.
