Description
A nice winter project for someone, will make a great car for spring/ summer!
The car is a 2003 Boxster 2. 7, so the facelifted model with improved aero and 10bhp more than the pre-facelift 2. 7.
Bad bit first:
The car had a coolant leak from a radiator and a pipe - the radiator has now been replaced but the garage has informed me it looks like head gasket failure.
Good bits:
The bodywork is excellent for its age, with no rust whatsoever.
The interior condition is also excellent for its age.
The car has H&R lowering springs and a short-shift kit fitted, making it a bit more of a sporty drive than a standard Boxster 986 without affecting the ride or feel.
The engine could easily be rebuilt (might not even need a full rebuild) but 2. 7 engines are readily available relatively cheaply, or the new owner could choose to fit a 3. 2 from a Boxster S or 3. 4, 3. 6 or even 3. 8 from a 996 or 997!
LS-swaps or Audi V8 swaps are popular for those who want a V8 Boxster, or there's the option of the VAG 20v 1. 8T or 2. 7TT too.
Choice of 18" Turbo Twist style wheels or the original 17", both pictured.
The car is currently fitted with 996 GT3-style bucket seats, but I'll probably keep those as I'm hoping to get back in to a 996 soon. Will consider offers on them, however. I took this lovely Boxster in part exchange for my 996 when I had to sell that to raise funds for a house move.
Now looking to get back in to a 996!
