1969 Triumph GT6 Mk2

I bought this car as an interim while my other GT6 was having a long term repair, I just love these cars.

This car was subject to an older restoration which has held up very well, it was rescued by an engineering under-graduate and was fully restored from the chassis up. The car previously had a bit of history on the race and hill-climb circuits before the rebuild.

The engine has been modified with a full balance, fast road cam, twin HS6 Su carbs, gas flowed head, hardened exhaust valves, 6 branch manifold on to a stainless exhaust system, oil cooler. Overdive on 3rd & 4th.

Stiffer suspension, fully polybushed, trunionless front suspension, spax shock absorbers, brake servo with new front brake calipers. I fitted a new set of Minilite style wheels with Anthracite spokes and diamond cut rims, a new set of tyres are fitted to these.

During the rebuild it had some panels replaced, door skins, sills and a brand new Mk2 bonnet that has been de-seamed for a cleaner look, paintwork was taken back to bare metal before being resprayed. The paintwork has held up well and is finished in a slightly stronger colour to the original ‘Jasmine’. There is no rust on this car.

The interior dashboard is veneered with Birds Eye Maple and fitted with magnolia gauges. Seats, dash crash-pad, door cards are all trimmed in Isis Blue leather, carpets are also in Isis Blue.

There is a sun roof that was fitted by the original dealer when the car was supplied new, it has since been retrimmed in Isis Blue Mohair.

This is a matching numbers car that agrees with the Heritage Certificate.

This car has had write-ups in various Triumph magazines and won awards at shows.

There are two box files full of it’s history with photographs and receipts.
TSSC agreed insurance valuation is £20000.

The car looks and sounds fabulous, it gets lots of attention and comments when at shows or on the road.
