Early Sept 1969 mk1 Ford Capri 1600cc GT XLR, 3 owners from new. I have owned the Capri from 2007, since then I have purchased many new original replacement parts making this Capri one of the best Capri`s out there.
Fully reconditioned engine, gas flow head, fast road cam and valve springs, new pistons list goes on, complete new clutch, complete recon axle, complete recon brakes.
New front steel wings, front steel valance, one sill, new steel rear wheel arches. chassis very solid no rust and wax oiled. Panels gaps are spot on as shown in pictures.
Interior has had new front door cards, new rear side cards, new underlay and carpet, dish has no cracking or damage, all the instruments work, original roof lining, period correct cassette/ radio.
I showed the Capri for the 1st time at the Capri mk1 national day in 2022 at Shuttleworth park, the reviews were very positive.
The Capri had a full respray approximately ten years ago, a few marks and scratches were starting to appear on the paintwork, no signs of rust anywhere proving the original refurbishment of the body and chassis was carried out to a very high level.
The Capri has just been returned to me after having a total refresh of the paintwork costing many thousands of pounds.
The Capri looked good before NOW it is STUNNING, no marks or scratches no stone chips nothing! The beautiful shape of the Capri body shows off the original Ford bronze/ gold colour.
This is a rare spec Capri only a few left.
The time and effort that has gone into collecting the original parts or other items to make this Capri mk1 1600 GT XLR a well sorted vehicle which drives without fault, turns heads as you drive by, this probably is the car you want to promise yourself.
