Description
Here for sale is my 1964 Mercury Montclair.
60 years young this year!
I bought it in 2020 and drove it around for a while before I decided the engine and box were too tired.
Since, I have spent £1, 000s replacing the engine and box, plus numerous other upgrades.
The car has had:
- A rebuilt Ford 302. Lumpy cam. Painted red. Edelbrock finishing kit.
- New Holley 600 carb
- New electronic ignition
- Rebuilt 3spd C4 trans
- New drive shaft
- New Varta battery
- New fuel lines
- New Wilwood disk kit on the fronts
- New Leeds Brakes servo and dual master
- Wiring tidied up and replaced where necessary
- New fuel tank
- New fuel sender
- New exhaust fabrication, leading to twin glass packs.
The car is in Clapham, London, stored in a dry underground carpark under a cover.
The body is good, but not perfect. The interior is the same.
Both, as you can see, look great and have never bothered me. If you want a Concours car, then, of course, enquire on those.
The car is VERY loud. In a good way. This is what you'd call a sleeper, I guess.
Full-size Ford body, 300hp-ish Boss-spec 302 under the hood :-D
£15, 000 ONO.
If you want to chat about it, I will respond on the details below.
Genuine reason for sale.
Would consider a swap with a Series III Land Rover with cash my way.
Thanks for looking. 1960s American styling with room for the family together with hot rod power and noise!
