After 24 years of ownership we are selling Bertie our 1. 6 Fiat Punto 90 ELX Cabrio built by Bertone and first registered in August 1994. We believe him to be the second oldest UK cabrio with build number 004793. He comes with a full service history from March 2000 and an MOT until 24 May.
After being laid up with the pandemic, he was recommissioned last year and has performed faultlessly since, including a trip to the Festival of the unexceptional. He did have a small amount of welding work to the nearside sill with all rust cut out and new metal welded in. He also had new brake discs and a service. Previous recent work included a new heater matrix and the ecu was rebuilt and located in a watertight container.
The paintwork is showing its age, particularly the bonnet, around the windscreen and the top of the bootlid. There is one small dent at the top of the nearside door in front of the handle, but it is difficult to see in the photographs. The roof is in excellent condition with no leaks, but the rear window has splits. We have a complete replacement roof and frame which will be included and a tonneau cover. Car has original equipment radio cassette and remote cd multichanger.
The car is currently SORNED, but I will tax it for any tests drives.
Car was first registered in August 1994 and has been in our ownership since March 2000 prior to which there were 3 registered keepers. We have a full record of servicing and all other works since this date. The timing belt was last replaced at 101, 000 miles.
