Description
1966 6t with matching numbers [see text] a restoration had been started on this in the eighties but never finished, i took it on at the end of last summer . The engine was in one piece minus rocker boxes and clutch . It has new later type crankcases although the only noticeable difference is the breather . They are stamped with the same number as the frame a look through the plug holes revealed new pistons The few receipts that came with it show new pistons , main, big end and gearbox bearings and £150 spent on the crank [quite a bit in the 80s there is also a dating certificate . The timing cover was removed and all looked nice with almost certainly a new oil pump . The chassis was a different story with many bits missing or wrong Everything was replaced with original bits . The tyres are new as are the chains some original new rocker boxes were found and new wheel bearings fitted along with taper roller head bearings a new seat from leightons was also fitted . New clutch parts were fitted as req along with pazon ignition and coils a modern regulator wired for 12v a new monobloc carb and a new loom , battery , speedo, and all new cables and new exhausts which are the correct ones . The bike has done 90 miles since the rebuild and runs and rides lovely and looks brilliant and so far has been oil tight i am only selling it as i have way to many bikes and little space . The last picture shows it during the rebuild . Bike is road legal and will be used until sold so mileage will increase and the v5 is in my name . This is a genuine ride away bike and a rare model as i think they only made them for 3 or 4 years . Bike on 130 miles now and i have done the first oil change . A genuine ride away bike that needs nothing doing to it . viewing and questions welcome but no time wasters please . Cash or bank transfer requiredplease contact me if you want anymore details or pictures
