I reluctantly have to dispose of my "Vocho", a 1994 Mexican beetle 1. 6 fuel injection. This is a version rarely seen here in the UK and a copy of the last Mexican edition (ultima edicion).
I have to sell it because
a) The engine restoration went wrong. I fully restored the engine 11 months ago (I have the invoice), but something went wrong, and it is not working now.
b) The car IS NOT ULEZ compliant, and I live in a ULEZ zone.
I initiated the import project before I knew ULEZ was coming to my area. Because the engine stalled, I could not see investing more in this lovely car because I could not enjoy it in my area.
With the engine running, this car should be worth £7, 000, so this is a good project for someone who will enjoy driving it; it only involves fixing the engine.
My mechanic said it is probably the piston rings. The engine is stalled, thus the price.
Apart from the details in the pictures, the body is in excellent condition. All the suspension rubbers and breaks are new, and the rest of the body is in perfect driving condition and recently restored, free of rust. There is no MOT (expired after the engine stalled). The engine was restored just under a year ago (I have an invoice).
